Burning down the house . . .

This evening, your humble narrator did leave an empty kettle upon a burner, resulting in the fusing of the two. Fortunately, the situation was but temporary and said kettle was disattached from stove, leaving behind only a circle of red paint. My cat Gergiev was quite alarmed and has requested that such situation not occur in her house again.
